Pet Sitting
Keep your pets happy and safe while you’re away! I offer overnight care for dogs and cats in your home, including feeding, litter box cleaning, walks for dogs, and plenty of love and attention. Stress-free, reliable care so your furry friends feel right at home.
Solo Dog Walks
Some dogs are more comfortable walking on their own rather than with others. If your dog prefers solo walks, I can provide a one-hour brisk walk outside of the lunchtime period.
Group Dog Walks
Dogs are only ever walked in groups of 4 or less, on or off the lead depending on your requirements. All walks will take place in a safe and suitable environment, away from busy roads.
Wedding Chaperone Service
I offer a Wedding Chaperone service which ensures your pup is part the celebration and your special day - from walking down the aisle as a ring bearer ,to posing for those adorable photos.
Drop-in Visits
I offer a drop-in service for all types of pets - whether it’s a midday visit for your dog, feeding your cat while you’re on holiday. This service is available once or multiple times per day and can be combined with dog walks or pet sitting.
Behind the Lead
Hi, I’m Phil, the owner of Sniffs and Strolls – Dog Walking & Pet Services, based in Lepton, Huddersfield. I live here with my wife, Lisa and our Border Terrier, Stanley.
I’ve been lucky enough to grow up surrounded by dogs and cats, and I know just how much they mean as part of the family. After years of working in other fields, I decided to follow my passion for animals and create Sniffs and Strolls, offering friendly and reliable dog walking and pet sitting services across the HD8 area of Huddersfield.
Whether it’s a daily walk, a puppy visit, or care for your dog and cats while you’re away, my goal is to make sure your animals are happy, safe, and well cared for in their own familiar environment.
I cover Denby Dale, Emley, Kirkburton, Lepton, Shelley, Shepley, and surrounding areas, providing a professional yet personal service that gives pet owners complete peace of mind.
Dog Walking
I offer a flexible dog walking service across the HD8 area in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Your dog will be collected from your home and enjoy a full hour of walking before being safely returned.
Solo Walking
(1 hour)
Every dog is different - some love company, while others prefer their own adventure! If your dog prefers to walk solo, I’ll take them on a refreshing one-hour walk outside the lunchtime rush. Walks are always in safe, quiet areas away from traffic. Your dog will enjoy a full hour of exploring, plus travel time, and will be towelled off before being brought home happy and comfortable.

Group Walking
(1 hour)
My group walks are full of variety and new adventures! I like to keep things interesting for my regular dogs by visiting different woodland routes each week — no two days are the same. We also include a bit of playtime, such as fetch or a fun game of “find the treat,” to keep tails wagging and minds active. They will get the allotted time out walking plus the time it takes to collect and drop them off. All dogs will be towelled off before returning home. Male dogs must be neutered for group walks unless agreed otherwise.

Puppy Walking

Once they’ve had all their vaccinations, I can take them on a gentle walk suited to their age and breed, helping them build confidence, explore the world safely, and learn good habits from the very start. With plenty of encouragement, play, and positive experiences, your puppy gets everything they need to grow into a happy, well-rounded dog.

What I need to know
When getting in touch please include your pet’s walking preferences, feeding times, routine, lead requirements, behaviour around other dogs and people, treat rules, and favourite games.
House Sitting
For clients who prefer not to use kennels or home-boarding services, I offer an in-home pet sitting option. This means your dog can stay in the comfort of their own home, following their normal routine and enjoying familiar surroundings where they feel safe and relaxed. Before any overnight stays, I arrange a meet and greet – just as I do for all my services – to get to know you and your dog. I also recommend booking a few regular walks beforehand, so your dog and I can build trust and form a bond.

Extended Care
Nightly rates cover a 24-hour period from the sitting start time to the client’s return. If the final day’s end time is more than two hours later than the first day’s start time, extended care rates apply per pet to fairly compensate sitters for extra time.

We’ll handle everything: safe transportation to and from the venue, pre-ceremony walks to burn off energy, outfit assistance (like bow ties or floral collars), calm supervision during the ceremony and reception, comfort breaks, treats, and hydration. With live photo updates throughout the day, you’ll have peace of mind while focusing on your “I dos.” Fully insured, DBS-checked, and canine first aid trained, we tailor the experience to your dog’s personality and needs. What To Expect
Dogs enjoy walks, playtime, and plenty of affection, while cats get interactive play, cuddles (if they choose!), and a tidy litter box. I always follow your pet’s routine, ensure their comfort and safety, and share photo updates so you know they’re content while you’re away.
